ONE of the world’s fastestgrowing jewellery companies has chosen the North-East as its UK base.

Danish firm Pandora Jewellery has set up an administrative and distribution centre in Hebburn, South Tyneside, which will serve the 350 outlets nationwide which stock the range.

The move has already created 34 jobs, with more expected to follow as the company prepares to expand.

Peter Andersen, sales director for Pandora in the UK, said: “Pandora has a very healthy market here in the UK and all the indications suggest that this will continue to grow.

“I have every confidence the company will move forward at an extremely fast pace over the next 12 months.”

The jewellery, which was founded and designed in Copenhagen, is also stocked across Australia, the US and Europe, and plans for up to 50 more stores and franchises are lined up for the next few years.
