A LOGO has been created for the biggest youth conference to be held in the North-East, as preparations for the event move forward.

To help launch the Cloud 9 summit, which is being held in the region next year, graffiti artist Graham Cleland designed the logo in a street art demo at Emmanuel College, Gateshead.

Cloud 9 will see more than 1,000 young people attending, and will offer both inspiration and practical support based on personal experiences of several high-profile speakers, who will be revealed in the new year. Star of BBC show The Apprentice, Tre Azam, has already been confirmed.

The event – hosted by the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, The Prince’s Trust, Make Your Mark, Young Enterprise North-East, North-East Enterprise Bond and One NorthEast – is being held on February 25 at the Rainton Meadows Arena.

Chris Quickfall, a former Emmanuel College student, was at the launch to inspire young people that they can be successful in business. He set up his own technology company, Invate, straight from university, which is exceeding all expectations.

Mike Hawkins, enterprise specialist at One NorthEast, said: “Young people are at the heart of the Regional Economic Strategy, which highlights the importance of students and graduates in boosting the number of new businesses being created in North-East England.

“The Cloud 9 summit will be an excellent celebration of the enterprise talent emerging from our young people and I look forward to seeing the showcase.”
