A MANUFACTURING firm in the North-East has completed almost £300,000 worth of overseas orders following a successful trade visit to Spain.

Newcastle-based CMP Products, which manufacturers industrial cable glands, has delivered its goods to Spanish engineering and construction group Technicas Reunidas.

The companies met during a five-day trade visit to Spain arranged by business development organisation NOF Energy, of Washington, Wearside.

Kath Kearns, from CMP European sales, said: "The Spanish market had been on our list of target markets for some time.

"Without the NOF Energy-organised market visit, this would have taken longer to organise and opportunities may have been lost.

"By having the itinerary arranged, we were able to concentrate on making the right contacts and organising the meetings which would be most beneficial to CMP Products.

"It was a brilliant introduction to the Spanish market, and the ongoing business we have won since is proof of the value of these trips."

NOF Energy has organised a second trip to Spain at the end of the month.

Joanne Leng, director of business development for NOF Energy, said: "The oil and gas market in Spain holds a significant number of opportunities."
