A STEEL fabrications company that has trebled in size since 2000 has a new owner.
David Cunningham has become a majority shareholder and now owns 84 per cent of the Allerton Group, based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
He intends to continue to expand the company, which employs nearly 100 staff, and increase turnover from £7.3m to more than £10m by 2010.
He said: "I have been a shareholder in Allerton for seven years and, during that time, I have seen the company grow and expand to more than treble its original size.
"We have made a large investment in staff and equipment in recent months, and our investment will allow this to continue for the benefit of all our customers worldwide.
"We have expansion plans for the future of the Allerton Group and I look forward to seeing these put into practice in the next few years."
Allerton was established in NEW BOSS: David Cunningham, majority shareholder of the Allerton Group the region more than 60 years ago and today provides a growing number of blue-chip clients with a range of design, fabrication and welding services.
The company's sub-division, Allerton Bridges, was formed in 2001 and provides construction and design services to clients across the UK and in Europe.
