ONE of Teesside’s most popular hotels is re-opening its doors to support those performing vital roles amidst the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Centre Square, on Albert Road - will provide much-needed accommodation for power station contractors living away from their families during lockdown.
The 159-bedroom hotel had remained open until April 3 to accommodate 18 contractors.
It reopened on Tuesday (April 28) to provide up to 20 rooms for key workers – with scope to increase the number of rooms should more front line workers need somewhere to stay.
Laura Telford, General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough - Centre Square, said: “These really are unprecedented times for everyone, and we’re pleased to be able to help by safely providing accommodation for key workers in need of a place to stay."
