A NORTH Yorkshire ice cream manufacturer has released the first of four new flavours for this summer.

Brymor Ice Cream is working through the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and has unveiled its newest flavour this week; Blackcurrants and Clotted Cream.

The flavour, which will be available in the Masham ice cream parlour and in over 300 independent retailers around the UK, was developed in response to market research and customer feedback.

Paul Hodgson, managing director, said: “Our product development continues unabated despite the challenging times we find ourselves in as a small business.

"The feedback on the new ice cream has been fantastic with everyone who has tasted it falling in love with the taste and texture.

"We believe it is a winner.”

Blackcurrants and Clotted Cream joins the Brymor Ice Cream family which boasts over 25 flavours.

The parlour was established in 1984 when milk quotas were introduced, forcing farmer Brian Moore - hence the company name - to diversify the spare milk from his small Guernsey herd into making ice cream.

After some trial and error, and lots and lots of tastings sessions, Mr Moore perfected the recipe which Brymor hasn’t changed since.

It is the only producer in Yorkshire making ice cream with milk from its own herd of pedigree Guernsey cows.
