JOBS are to be created after property investment company Arlington unveiled plans to invest £5m.
The Hartlepool company has bought the former Sedgefield Enterprise Centre, in Spennymoor, County Durham, and plans to refurbish the 12.5 acre site and add new buildings.
The site, formerly part of Black and Decker's design headquarters and despatch centre, was acquired from regional development agency One NorthEast, and Arlington plans to invest several million pounds in the coming months.
Spennymoor has recently been rocked by news that its Electrolux plant, a key employer with 600 workers, is reviewing the future of the site.
Allan Cook, director of Arlington, said it was a timely boost for the town.
