OCTOBER half-term is fast approaching and something wicked is coming to Raby Castle this Halloween.

What better way to keep children busy this half-term than with Raby’s special Halloween events and activities?

Join Raby Castle for some spook-tacular fun for all the family, as their spooky guide takes you through time on a terrifying tour of Raby’s Myths, Legends and Grizzly Tales. From the beastly battle of Neville’s Cross to the legend of the Witch-Cat of Staindrop - what will you discover this Halloween?

Exclusive to Raby, the popular Room on the Broom event, by Bright Woods School CIC, is back at Raby Castle only. Take a Halloween ramble inspired by Julia Donaldson’s Room on the Broom book. Follow the witch and her companions, enjoying some fun activities along the way. To top it off, toast some ghostly marshmallows around a campfire at the end.

This season, families can also explore the 200-acre deer park and take part in the Halloween Trail through the Park & Gardens, where children can search for clues to claim their reward.

The Stables Café, Shop and Woodland Play Area is free to access, and why not try one of the amazing seasonal drinks from the new Autumn/Winter menu, including spiced pumpkin lattes, and Baileys hot chocolate for the grown-ups. Pick up a coffee loyalty card while you’re here to collect your hot drink stamps, and get your tenth drink free.

A special delivery of Autumn Alpines has arrived at the Stables Shop, for £1.99 each or 6 for £9.99. These are must-haves for any keen gardeners wanting to bring splashes of colour during the Autumn season.

Explore the 200-acre Deer Park on your visit, and spot the resident red and fallow deer during the fascinating rutting season.

Don’t forget to come along to the spectacular High Force Waterfall and Hotel. There’s plenty to see and do, including a children’s Halloween Trail, soft furnishing workshops by JS Interiors, special autumn room offers, and delicious homemade food.
