A DISUSED village pub has been given a new lease of life after being converted into ten apartments.
The former North Briton on the A167, in Aycliffe Village, near Newton Aycliffe, closed nearly five years ago and was snapped up by local businessman John Wade.
Investor and businessman Duncan Belton has returned to his roots after acquiring a three-year lease to let the properties - four one-bedroom, one two-bedroom and five studio apartments.
Teesside-based Mr Belton, who was brought up in the area and drank in the North Briton pub in his younger days, is marketing the fully-serviced North Briton Court apartments on short-term agreements for local businesses and contract workers.
He said: “This development is an exciting opportunity for local businesses to accommodate their guests and visitors in comfortable surroundings at very affordable rates.”
