A YOUNG entrepreneur who struggles to straighten her own curly locks has opened a hair extensions business.

Mica Coleman, 22, opened Oh So Locks on Oxford Road in Middlesbrough with a launch party this week. She started running the business online from home, but said she “couldn’t let the opportunity go” when the premises became available.

“Being my own boss has always been a dream of mine.” said Ms Coleman. “I’ve always struggled with my natural hair since being little, with me being half Jamaican I have coarse curly hair and it’s not the easiest.

“My mam introduced hair extensions to me in my teens and I have always loved the idea of being able to have straight hair from time to time.”

Ms Coleman has previous experience in retail, modelling, interactive media, graphic design and social media.

She said: “What started as a dream is now a reality, The sky is the limit for Oh So Locks opening in the heart of Middlesbrough.”
