WASHINGTON company The Simpson Group is on the lookout for two new company managers to help continue the business's rapid expansion.

The high-level recruitment comes as part of a managerial restructure, which will see managing director Mark Simpson move to the newly-created position of company chairman.

Operations director Bill McNally, who has been with the business for more than 25 years, will become managing director.

The new recruits are wanted for Simpson Group's marketing arm, to help it continue with its strong progress of recent years.

Mr Simpson has been managing director for more than 20 years and has guided the group from a £250k company in the 1980s, to a thriving firm with a £10m turnover. The point of purchase specialist company has also recently moved into a new £4m headquarters in Washington, Wearside.

Mr Simpson said: "After being heavily involved for so many years, it will be strange not to be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the business.

"It is, however, a positive move for the future of the business, as it allows us to explore alternative growth opportunities and strengthen our management team by acquiring experienced people to bring suitable skills to the company."
