TWO County Durham firms have signed deals with US tour operator Welcome USA to promote transatlantic trips.
Consett-based Holiday IT has devised a website which allows travel agents to book up-to-the-minute deals on holiday accommodation throughout the US.
The system is now in use by Durham-based tour operator Mainstreet USA, which specialises in holiday accommodation throughout the US - and in particular Florida.
Alan Crampton, managing director of Holiday IT, which was set up in the region in 2002, travelled to America to promote the company. The site was then re-branded for Mainstreet USA, one of Welcome USA's clients, along with other tour operators in the UK and Ireland.
Mr Crampton said: "We had a very positive meeting with Welcome USA, which resulted in our company designing a password-protected website to show their available products.
