A POPULAR farmers market has trebled visitor numbers in just two years.
Saltburn Farmers' Market welcomed more than 9,600 people to its last monthly meeting in October, which represents a huge increase from 3,530 visitors in 2010.
Organiser Lorna Jackson said: “Everyone involved with the market has a great passion for good locally produced food.
"Together with the sprinkling of community stalls and the shoppers it definitely gives the market a sense of theatre and place that out-of-town shopping centres don’t have.
“This is a far cry from our first market during an Easter blizzard in 2008, but we thought we hasd something special and were determined to make it work.”
