A walk of great variety. Stunning views from the edge of Sutton Bank, the White Horse and hidden Gormire Lake.
Avoiding busy Malham is not a bad call at this time of the year. Particularly if you can still enjoy an excellent walk only a few miles away. Combining the shores of Malham Tarn with a climb of Great Close Hill is a perfect family outing… without the crowds.
North of Hawes lie two of the best mountains in the Yorkshire Dales - Great Shunner Fell and Lovely Seat (both Dales 30) which bridge the divide of the fine col at Buttertubs.
