I just read heard about Mervyn. We were schoolmates from 9 years old until I left Grangefield in 1966. We saw each other driefly before I moved to Canada in 1980. I remember well going fishing at Saltburn on many occasions, cycling around N Yorks and playing rugby for the school with Merv. Very sad to hear of his passing. Mike Byrne

I’ve just seen this. So terribly sorry.

Mervyn and I met at McClemont’s funeral in 2006 and had a long chat.

Not sure if this will find you but if it does I remember you both with very fond memories.
