EVANS February 7, at home in Darlington. Doreen, dearly loved wife of the late Tom, much loved mum of Julie and will be sadly missed by Stephen and Emma. Funeral Friday, February 21. Friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 2.45p.m. No flowers. Donations, if desired, may be given at the service for The Salvation Army. Colourful clothing welcome.

So saddened to learn about Doreen's passing. I knew Doreen many years ago when I worked on the counter at Darlington GPO. She was a telegraphist there, and one of several of us at the GPO who were married around the same time. She was always very smartly turned out! I met her again several years ago when we attended the same ex-post office workers club. She still looked the same. RIP Doreen. From Eileen C.
