POSTGATE Margaret Jaqueline (Jackie) MBE Mother of Steven and Julie, mother-in-law of Andrew and Claire, grandmother of Adam, Ryan, Luke, Euan, Nathan and Aaron. Will friends please meet for service in St Edmunds Church Sedgefield at 3.30pm on Thursday January 30, followed by private committal at Wear Valley Crematorium, Coundon at 4.30pm. Jackie trained as a Registered General Nurse at Winterton Hospital and spent many years as a District Nurse in the Ferryhill area. She was the founder of 1st Sedgefield Girl Guides; ran the group for over 40 years and was awarded the MBE, by the Queen, for her dedication to Girl Guiding. She was still heavily involved with the group as a member of the Trefoil Guild. Members of the group are most welcome to wear their uniform at the service. Despite needing a wheelchair to get around in her later years, Jackie was always on the go and spent many holidays aboard Cruise Ships seeing the world, initially with her devoted husband, Ernie, and when he passed away in August 2016, with her great friend, Janet. Following a very short illness, Jackie passed away peacefully in North Tees Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. You will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know you.
