SOMETHING has to give when Darlington Mowden Park and visitors Coventry both seek a fourth successive win today.

It was one of the highlights of last season when Mowden beat the once-mighty Midlanders 32-25 at The Northern Echo Arena and they are thirsting for a repeat.

While Coventry's run of success has come against the bottom three clubs, Mowden's has been the more impressive with away wins at Plymouth and Fylde.

The settled side was disrupted last week when, after romping into a 21-0 lead at Fylde, they lost three forwards through injury.

But No 8 Ollie Hodgson and hooker Santiago Socino have recovered, as has blind side flanker Ali Bone, meaning the only forward ruled out is prop Ignas Darkintis.

He is replaced by Darren Fearn, while Callum Mackenzie drops to the bench along with scrum half Bruno Bravo. After several weeks' absence, Chris Auld returns at full back, so Matt Walsh reverts to No 9.

Socino's recovery means recently-signed fellow Argentinian Gaston Demergasso has to wait for his senior debut after scoring for the Development XV last week in a 34-10 win against Percy Park.

Despite scoring all three of last week's tries in the first 20 minutes, 26 of the 38 Mowden have scored this season have come in the second half.

While that is mainly a reflection of having to fight back from big half-time deficits during their early-season run of away defeats, it also bears testimony to their fitness.

In Garry Law they also have the goal-kicker with the best strike rate in National One at 79.25.

Coventry, who lie sixth, will have former Leeds and Wharfedale centre James Tincknell on the bench after recovering from his most recent injury. It was nothing like as serious as when he spent a month in a coma four years ago following a car crash on the A66.

Blaydon visit bottom club Cinderford with a warning from coach Micky Ward that it will be tougher than in the recent home wins against Esher and Rosslyn Park.

After the run of seven defeats he feels he has succeeded in getting his team to reproduce in matches what they do in training.

The pack is unchanged for what is likely to be a forward battle on a heavy pitch following prolonged rain in Gloucestershire.

Tom Bramwell has escaped the bad weather by going to play in the Dubai Sevens, so Tom Grimes switches to centre with James Cooney returning on the wing. Teessider James Whyman comes on to the bench.

The longest journey in National Two North sees Herefordshire's Luctonians visit Tynedale, who will be keen to build on last week's win at Otley.

Billingham are unchanged for the visit of Huddersfield YMCA in Three North, while West Hartlepool have Sam Miller back at No 8 for the North One East home match against Percy Park. With Aaron Myers unavailable, Liam Bailey and Dan Boatman complete the back row.

Durham and Northumberland One leaders Durham City visit Stockton, who are unbeaten at their new Grangefield ground but have conceded more than 50 points against City in the last two seasons.

Jeremy Good is out with a knee injury so Jonny Horner moves to fly half with Brian Thwaites returning at scrum half.

Hooker Mark Conway, winger Brian Morris and back row man Joe Green return, the latter replacing coach Martin Howe.

Middlesbrough, one point behind City, have Andy Micklewright at centre for Michael Thornburn for the visit of Horden.

Consett will hope to maintain their challenge at Hartlepool Rovers, while Darlington seek their first win at Medicals.
