CROOK AC won the team prize at the Norman Woodcock 5m road race held on Saturday afternoon.  Organised by Elswick Harriers and billed as one of the longest established road races in the North East, the 3-lap course of the ambulance and service vehicle road is held within the confines of Newcastle Racecourse.  Chris Auld finished in 4th position overall in a time of 28.00 followed by Robert Teasdale in 7th position in 28.53, Wayne Pearson ran a brilliant PB time to finish in 10th position in 29.36 and Geoff Hewitson in 36th position in 34.05.  Chris and Wayne secured first and second prizes in the V40 category and as the club had three runners finishing in the top 10, Crook AC was awarded overall team prize.

Paul Brennan ran a 5.42 mile in the Monthly Mile at South Shields mid-week while Darren Fairclough ran in the Tees Trail Winter 5K at Billingham Beck Country Park in a time of 22.40 finishing in position 51.

In the Saturday morning parkruns, Paul Smith finished in pos 54 in 22.29 at Durham followed by Graham Laverick in pos 170 in 27.18.  At Sedgefield, Paul Brennan finished in pos 4 in 19.47 while at Riverside, Jo Beckett finished in pos 16 in 20.13.  Craig Downs ran at South Park in Darlington finishing in pos 52 in a time of 22.03.  Meanwhile there was a Crook AC takeover at Hackworth who was holding a coffee and cake morning to raise money towards a defibrillator.  They raised a magnificent £410.  First finisher overall was Jason Bridgewater in 19.50 followed by Caroline Teasdale in 3rd position and first lady in 22.10, Joanne Raine in pos 4 in 22.10, Martin Harbisher in pos 5 in 23.30, Megan Hauxwell in pos 16 in 25.12, Michael Lloyd in pos 26 in 26.23, Chris Clynes in pos 27 in 26.23, Steve Manifold in pos 28 in 26.28, Ken Cawkwell in pos 48 in 29.27, Diane Wood in pos 51 in 29.34, Gemma Henderson in pos 59 in 30.16, Lynsey Manifold in pos 58 in 30.16 and Tracey Scott in pos 64 in 31.40.

In the Junior parkrun at Sedgefield on Sunday, six juniors braved the wet and miserable conditions.  First home was Evon Domville in pos 3 in 8.53 followed by Leah Aldworth in pos 4 in 8.58, Caitlin Carr in pos 6 in 9.27, Emilie Clark in pos 7 in 9.30, David Edwards in pos 9 in 10.11 and Kian Domville in pos 12 in 10.36.
