                The Durham County Ladies A team lost their first match of the season in the Northern Counties trophy at Cockermouth, where Cumbria won by 114 shots to 105 to give them an eight and a half points to two and a half victory.

                Durham results were: Rink 1: Pat Johnson, Anne Camp, Joan Mason, Ann Anderson drew 18-18; Rink 2: Mary McGee, Maureen Burkin, Joyce Stephenson, Teresa Pearson lost 10-34; Rink 3: Jean Graham, Jane Pattison, Norma Stephenson, Sue Almond lost 17-19; Rink 4: Eileen Atkinson, Neil Hart, Fay Slinn, Trudy Kitto won 24-13; Rink 5: Joan Brown, Edna Atkinson, Joyce Woodward, Gill Jones lost 16-18; Rink 6: Susan Forster, Edna Stokoe, Glynis Morgan, Joan Rodgerson won 20-12.

                Yorkshire are the early leaders after their 10 – 1 win over Northumberland.

County Ladies B lose to Yorkshire

 

                The Durham County Ladies team lost their first match of the season in the Stella Logan League when they went down to the visiting Yorkshire team, who won by 124 shots to 107 at Consett Park Bowling Club.
