SECOND DIVISION Tudhoe United reached the final of the Tom Waggott cup with a 3-2 victory over Spennymoor Salvin Arms. Anthony Philipson (2) and Stuart Maughan were on target for Tudhoe with Connor Embleton and Adam Walton replying for Salvins.

Cockfield, winners in 2013, gained a 3-2 victory over Coundon Miners Arms to set up a semi final trip to Middlestone Moor Masons Arms. Tony Callaghan (2) and Michael Dowson netted for Cockfield with Miners goals courtesy of Joe Hardaker and Daniel Wales.

Middlestone Moor wrapped up the second division title with a 4-2 win at home to Bishop Auckland Sports Bar. Scorers for the champions were Ross Morrow, Ross Hunter, Marc Costello and Daniel Lennon while Matthew Cowling and Richard Graham responded for the Bishop side.

A 6-3 victory at Barnard Castle earned Shildon Elm Road a fourth consecutive league win. Thomas Louden bagged five for the victors with Daniel Johnson completing the half dozen. Callum Tallentire (2) and Rob Dominick replied for Barney.

In division three, two points from their final two games will guarantee one of the two promotion spots for Newton Aycliffe Sports Club following a 3-2 defeat of Huntsman in a local derby. Chris Jones scored all three for the victors with Ollie Gell and Shaun Sproates the Huntsman marksmen.

Willington Cottles kept their promotion hopes alive with a 3-2 victory over Bishop Lacey’s. Jamie Clarey, Martin Irwin and Chris Elmes scored for Cottles with Ryan Sutton and Joe Wilson responding for Lacey’s.

 Cockton Hill WMC had failed to win in their previous seven league outings but Martin Hutchinson scored four in an 8-2 victory at Shildon Crossings. Jordan Taylor, Adam Walton and a brace from Kyle Harris completed the Cockton Hill score sheet with Rhys Bennett and Danny Thomas replying.
