ELVET STRIDERS' most improved female runner of 2014, Sally Hughes was called into action for the North East in the Inter County Cross Country Championships in Birmingham at the weekend.
Sally and her father Mike are active membersof the club and are often to be found trudging through the mud at cross country fixtures both locally and nationally.
Eighteen year old Sally was selected to represent North East Counties U/20 women last weekend following her strong performances within the North East Harrier League.
Sally finished 109th in a very strong field of 143 helping the North East team finish very respectably mid table.
Well done Sally! Our Cross Country captains Mudman and Mudwoman (as well as all of the Striders) are very proud of you.
