Darlington Spraire Lads and Lasses

The Under-7s enjoyed a close game with Billingham Synthonia with both teams scoring on multiple occasions. It was the boys from Billingham who finished the game stronger.

The Under-8s entertained Greatham and despite a good performance the visitors kept a clean sheet and scored to secure the points.

The Under-9 A team travelled to Hartlepool St Francis and put in a convincing away performance. Keeper Sam kept a clean sheet and great teamwork saw Spraire secure some notable goals and a comfortable result.

The Under-9 Panthers also put in a great passing performance against Norton & Stockton Ancients. Drew Bryant was delighted with his hat-trick, while Harper Mitchell and John Gibson also converted chances.

The Under-11s enjoyed a 8-2 victory at home to TIBS B.

The Under-12 A team took all the points with a confident 5- 1 display away at Redcar. Brandon Kacis scored the opener only for Redcar to equalise before half time. Spraire got into gear in the second half with a quick-fire goal from Coby Creighton then Kacis grabbed his second of the day. Kieran Coatman also scored while keeper Matty Bateman snuffed out Redcar breaks.

The Under-13s halted Greatham’s recent run of form with an excellent home performance. Stefan Hornsby converted the first goal before Kieran Ellis scored the second before half time. Spraire’s third came from a quick counter when Hornsby got his second of the game. James Humphries bravely finished with a cool strike and with minutes remaining Louie Moore scored to make the final score 5-0.

The Under-16s drew 5-5 with Thirsk Falcons. Jack scored the first of his three to put Spraire in the lead.

West Auckland Juniors

The Under 9s had a 5-1 win against Easington Colliery.

West opened the scoring when Ethan Flint headed in from a corner. Easington then equalised before Ellis Hallimond smashed one into the top corner to make it 2-1.

It was more of the same in the second half and West took a two goal lead from a free-kick. Charlie Twinn struck it but the keeper failed to hold onto it and Ellis was quick off the mark to put the loose ball into the bottom corner.

Adam Wilson then made it 4-1 with a great first time shot which flew in the corner of the net and then Kai Harkness scored late on to make the final score 5-1. Charlie Twinn was voted man of the match.

Redcar Town Girls

The Under-13s continued their unbeaten run with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Cleveland Juniors Scorpians.

Redcar Town FC Boys

The Under-14 Blues lost 3-0 at home to Richmond Royals.

The Blues battled hard against a very strong Richmond side and after going a goal behind they came storming back with Jack Dye and Brandon Harris causing lots of problems.

Skipper Jordan Woodall played well in midfield with James Cole, Reece Bowley and Harry Watson outstanding in defence, but the visitors scored two late goals to take the points.

The Under-13 Whites thrashed Saltburn Athletic 9-0.

The visitors produced an excellent all round performance to triumph with goals from Jack Bowden (3), Jack Charlton (2), Jamie Kerr, Charlie Addison, Marshall Merry and Marcus Sigsworth.

The Under-15s won 6-1 at Kirkmerrington.

Town started well with keeper Hierons saving them numerous occasions, but on the half hour the hosts went ahead through a wind-assisted free-kick.

Redcar drew level against the run of play five minutes later when Cole Stephenson crossed for Jack Sullivan to send a bullet header home from 12 yards.

In the second half, Town took control and the lead on 52 minutes when Luke Hartnett chased a long ball to slot home.

Clark added a third with a well-struck free-kick and added another on 64 minutes after good work from Nawton. Matty Green netted a fifth after beating the full-back and slotting home with Clarke capping a man of the match performance with his team’s sixth goal.

Darlington RA Juniors

The Under-15s, sponsored by Darlington Motor Factors, won 6-2 against TIBS B. Goals from Alex Ward (2), Bradley Harbron (1), Lewis Shields (2) and Bradley Davies (1).

Middleton Rangers

The Under-9s produced a great display against Stockton Town.

Blake Wheldon helped Rangers with a great save and Kayne Williams and Oliver Summers were brilliant at the back, while Will Maddison dominated the centre. Xander Phillips and Toby Hall were excellent in the wide positions and Jacob Throw kept up a fine run of performances.

The Under-11s lost 3-1 to Redcar Newmarket.

Redcar took a three-goal lead before Rangers man of the match Harvey Reed pulled one back.

The Under-12s were 3-0 winners at home to Stockton Town Blues.

Rangers got off to a flyer when Alfie Madgwick latched onto a through ball to slot past the keeper and Joe Hetherington almost doubled their lead moments later.

Rangers keeper Thomas Thebe thwarted Stockton’s comeback attempts and Madgwick made it two before half time.

Shortly after the break it was 3-0 with Madgwick completing his mat-trick from Thebe’s long clearance. Harry Gilbert was man of the match.

The Under-13s lost 4-2 against TIBS.

TIBS took a two-goal lead and it could have been three had Will Spencer not pushed a penalty onto the bar.

Rangers fought back with goals from Matty Phillips after a great through ball from Alex Littlefair and a brilliant turn and cross by Ben Reay to set up Callum Spence to make it 2-2.

With time running out TIBS scored from a cross and got another as Rangers chased the game. Man of the match went to Nathan Warwick.

Middleton Rangers Girls

The Under-11s produced a much improved performance at Skelton.

In what was the team’s fourth ever league game, they produced a fine display of passing and movement. Girl of the game went to Macy Howe for her two goals.

Darlington 21st Allstars The Under-8 Colts beat 3-2 Seaton Carew Lions 3-2. Calum Hudspeth got two goals with Jack Leafe also on target. Man of the match was Bailey Gunton.

The Colts, sponsored by Oven Proud, won 1-0 at Richmond. Man of the match Wilbraham’s through ball to Gibbon won the game after the keeper failed to stop his second attempt on goal.

The Under-10 Colts won 6-1 at Primros Hill.

Primrose opened the scoring, but Allstars equalised through Nathan Dixon thanks to Ethan Vallis through ball. The in-form Josh Oliver bagged five goals in a superb display of finishing.

The Under-13 Colts drew 2-2 at home to Guisborough Town. Allstars led early through Ross Howell’s strike, but Guisborough equalised just before half-time. Town took the lead from a long-range free-kick, but Allstars battled back with Jamie Catterick powering a smart header home to make it 2-2. Jamie Catterick was man of the match and Jake Marsh most improved player.

Bishop Auckland St Mary’s Juniors

The Under-12s remain TJFA third division leaders following a 6-2 victory away to Cargo Fleet JFC. Regan Nixon scored bagged his ninth hat-trick of this season (35 goals in total). Jack Purdham, Dylan Kestle and Oliver Johnson also scored.

The Under-7 Aces had a fine win with Mason Wright, Jamie Wright and MoM Jayden Bowes all scoring.

The Under-8 Aces played three games with three victories with goals from Dylan Robson, James Dent, Finlay Rose, Keaton Kestle, Jake Pinkney, Charlie Berry and Liam Cunningham. MoM performances from Noah Borely, Liam Cunningham and Jake Pinkney.

The Under-8 Kings won both their games with Cobie, Ethan(MoM), Tom, Ben (MoM), Sam and George all scoring.

The Under-15s battled hard but lost to leaders Stockton Town. MoM Ronan Makepeace in Bishops’ goal was outstanding throughout including a penalty save.

The Under-11 Kings lost at Grangetown despite a MoM performance from Kya Crawford.

The Under-11 Aces lost narrowly 2-1 at Kader with the only goal from MoM Blake Winter.

The Under-13 Aces lost 3-1 at Hartlepool St Francis with Luke Penberthy on the score sheet. Tom Aldsworth was voted MoM.

The Under-13 Kings won 1-0 at Redcar Town Royals with Matthew Moffat scoring and Oliver Lamb MoM.

The Under-14s beat Wynyard 3-0 in the League Cup second round with goals from Carl Stout (2) and Lucas Hallimond.

Club chairman Steve Coulthard started his charity trek and accent of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania this week. He will hopefully, along with businessmen Graham Sheldon and Marc Borely, have reached the summit safely and raised thousands of pounds for local charities and BASMJ.
