A HORSE trained in the region has set a new record in the sales ring.
Dual Listed winner Easton Angel, trained at Denton, near Darlington, by Michael Dods, has been sold for 500,000 guineas to set a new record for the Tattersalls February Sale.
The horse, a high class sprinter which has won twice at Listed level, was sold to agent Mick Flanagan for an undisclosed client.
The four-year-old was part-owned by Ritchie Fiddes, who lives near Ripon, North Yorkshire.
Mr Flanagan said the filly had been bought as a "breeding prospect", but that other options remained open.
He told Thoroughbred Daily News: “She’s a good, quick filly with a great physical and she moves like a panther. She’s been bought for a new client based in Europe so she will stay here.”
