WEDNESDAY afternoon's race meeting at Catterick has been abandoned following three inspections.
A sharp frost overnight saw temperatures reach -4C and fog has prevented conditions from improving.
Clerk of the course Fiona Needham said: "Unfortunately we are shrouded in freezing fog.
"We had a frost overnight but the fog has meant it has continued to freeze.
"It's a real shame but it's beaten us."
