SUNDERLAND (4-3-2-1):
4 Pickford: Uncharacteristically to blame for the opening goal after a fine first full season in the Premier League;
5 Jones: Dug in like he normally does but should have scored when he missed a second half chance
5 Kone: Just got through the game without standing out like he did earlier in his Sunderland career
5 O’Shea: Partially to blame for the first but made sure most players returned to applaud the fans after the whistle
4 Manquillo: Unable to prevent Naughton from scoring when Khazri had allowed him to drift into the area;
5 Ndong: Showed some nice touches on the ball but nowhere near his best
4 Denayer: Lucky not to be booked for a foul before injury cut short his afternoon
6 LARSSON: Kept playing and clearly looked determined to turn in a performance;
4 Borini: This could be his last Sunderland appearance and fans won’t be too bothered
4 Anichebe: Had done very little before dropping to the floor and feeling his hamstring, again;
5 Defoe: Not the game for him but still stayed behind to effectively say his farewells
Subs:
Gibson (for Denayer 20): Kept the ball moving and picked up a card for a cynical challenge. 5
Khazri (for Anichebe 37): A couple of second half efforts on goal. 5
(not used): Mannone (gk), Djilobodji, Rodwell, Love, Gooch.
SWANSEA CITY (4-2-3-1): Fabianski 7; Naughton 7, Fernandez 6, Mawson 7, Olsson 5; Ki 7 (Fer 67, 5), BRITTON 7 (Cork 77); Ayew 6, Sigurdsson 6, Carroll 5; Llorente 7 (Narsingh 89). Subs (not used): Nordfeldt (gk), van der Hoorn, Borja, Kingsley.
MAN OF THE MATCH: LEON Britton – made Swansea tick in the middle and Sunderland couldn’t deal with him.
