SPENNYMOOR TOWN last night completed the signing of striker Bradley Fewster, who was release by Middlesbrough at the end of last season.

Fewster, 21, signed professional terms with Boro in 2013 and went on to play on loan for York City and Hartlepool United in League Two.

He scored eight times for the Minstermen and won the League Two Player of the Month Award for February 2016, while he has represented England from under-16 to under-19 level.

“I’ve spoke to the manager about the club and his ambitions for it and I was happy with what I heard,” Fewster told Spennymoor’s official website.

“Hopefully I can get some games under my belt and score some goals. I want promotion, that’s why I am here.

“As a striker I come alive in the box and link the play well. I love to play on the last defender, get in positions to score as many goals as possible and do my best to help the team.”

Fewster was on trial with Darlington in pre-season and even appeared in their annual team photo.

Quakers made an offer to him, but he turned it down to sign for Spennymoor and will be in the squad tomorrow for the match at home to Gainsborough Trinity.

Fewster’s arrival comes as David Dowson leaves to join Consett on loan.

Meanwhile, Scott Fenwick, who left Darlington earlier this week, is expected to join a full-time club today.

He was used only a substitute during the first month of the season.
