In the second division, the scramble for promotion continues.

Hebburn, who are second, are hoping to go level on points with leaders Team Northumbria by beating Chester-le-Street. Manager Paul Bennett could choose the same team that won 6-0 at Darlington RA in midweek, when striker Alex Benjamin scored all six. Chester are without their top scorer Callum Patton because of injury, as well as another striker, Tom Vickers.

Third top Morpeth can continue their remarkable transformation at home to Northallerton. The Northumbrians were bottom of the table last year, and previous to that came within a whisker of being kicked out of the league. Northallerton are playing their second game inside 48 hours after drawing 4-4 in midweek, and are missing striker Carl Chillingsworth, but Nathan Hemingborough replaces him.

Gillford Park have games in hand on everyone above them, but need to win at Alnwick to stay in touch with the top three after drawing 4-4 with Northallerton in midweek, even though they were 4-1 up at one stage.

There is a similar scramble at the other end of the table to avoid the drop into the Wearside League.

Bottom club Easington are running out of games, and they need badly need to beat fourth bottom Thornaby to have a chance of avoiding the drop. Chris hall and John Hutton are both unavailable for Easington, but new signing Ben Davies should make his debut.

Third bottom Seaham Red Star are at home to Esh Winning, and they will give debuts to four players signed on transfer deadline day -- Craig Price and Dave Gordon from Shildon, Lee Cresswell from Chester-le-Street and Robbie Blemmings from Ryton. However, Craig McManus and Adam Drysdale are both missing because of suspension.

Esh are without midfielder Alex Wilson, who is serving a three match suspension, while injured pair Stephen Oakley and Scott Richards are also missing.

Second bottom Horden, who are six points above Easington, are at Brandon and manager Peter Mulcaster recalls eight players who missed the midweek home defeat by Alnwick. Brandon are missing Scott Hine, Iain Race and Craig Mountain due to injury, but Gerard Wraith, Andrew Beamson, John Guy and leading goalscorer Mark Brischuk return. In the other games, Crook are at Ryton and Crawcrook, and will be missing suspended striker Kevin Devine. Washington head over the A66 to Whitehaven.
