West Auckland manager Andy Campbell admits that he’ll be sad if opponents Norton are relegated today.

Campbell was manager of Norton when they won promotion last season to the ENL First Division, but he left them in the summer and took on the West job. If West win today, then Norton will be relegated.

“Today is all about West Auckland,” he said. “I would love Norton to stay up but that would mean them getting a result against us, but I want nothing less than three points.

“Norton is an excellent club with nice people involved and an excellent manager, but today is about us making sure that we stay in this division.”

Campbell will be missing suspended defender Darren Richardson, while midfielder Scott Oldfield and striker Michael Jameson are also missing. However, back come defenders Jon Brackstone and Ian Maddison, midfielder Dave Edwards and forward Callum Hassan.

Third bottom Esh Winning can do themselves a power of good if they pick up at least a point at Heaton Stannington, and they recall five players who missed the midweek defeat at Ryhope CW. Esh are currently four points above the drop zone.
