Bishop Auckland are still second from bottom of the ENL First Division after they were beaten 2-0 at home by Newton Aycliffe.
Bishops were reduced to ten men after just 15 minutes when Arjun Purewal was red carded for a foul, and Aycliffe took the lead with a glancing header by Alex Kitchen.
Aycliffe were also down to ten men when Ashley Coffey was dismissed following a clash with Bishops’ David Mitchell, but that didn’t stop them going 2-0 up with a goal by Zak Boagey.
In the second half, Bishops increased the pressure, and Andy Johnson went close twice, but they couldn’t break through.
In the second division, Chester-le-Street won 4-3 at Birtley after being 2-1 down at one stage.
