Marske United are up to second place in the ENL First Division with a 3-2 home win over North Shields.

Marske took the lead on the half hour with a low shot by Craig Gott, and a minute later Josh McDonald made a good run and set up Jamie Owens to score his seventh goal of the season.

Shields pulled one back at the start of the second half through Gareth Bainbridge, but Marske stopped any hopes of a comeback when Owens produced another good finish. John Parker pulled a goal back in stoppage time.

Ashington striker Marc Walton scored all four for his side as they won 4-3 at Whitley Bay, who led 2-0 at one point.

Whitley player-manager Leon Ryan headed his team in front from a Paul Robinson corner, then Paul Chow made it 2-0 from the penalty spot, his ninth league goal of the season before half time.

Marc Walton pulled a goal back for Ashington from the spot, and then he fired the equaliser on 70 minutes. He then completed his hat trick and quickly scored his fourth, before Chow pulled a late goal back.

In the Brooks Mileson Northern League Cup, Ryton pulled off the shock of the night when they won 2-1 at Durham City. Callum Hope scored with a 25 yarder to give Durham the lead , but Daniel Robinson levelled for Ryton, and Will Forsyth scored the winner in the last minute.

West Auckland beat Esh Winning 3-0 at the Seagraves Stadium.

West took a 5th minute lead through Karl Wilkinson, but they didn’t add to it until Warren Byrne scored midway through the second half, then Stuart Banks, on his return from injury, added a third.

Dunston UTS beat Consett 2-1. John Wilson put Dunston into the lead, with Dan Madden equalising. But Wilson popped up with the winner soon after.

Hebburn scored a last minute winner to beat Chester-le-Street 3-2.

Channon North scored twice in the first half hour for Hebburn against Chester-le-Street, who pulled goals back in the second half through Scott Heslop and Robbie Draper. But North completed his hat trick in the third minute of stoppage time..

Ryhope CW beat Northallerton 4-1. Richard Hodgson gave Ryhope the lead, with Mattie Wears making it 2-0. New signing Adam Pinkney pulled a goal back, but Ryhope made sure with goals by new signing Lee Jones and Andy Appleby.

Jarrow Roofing beat Alnwick 1-0, John Campbell scoring the winner with a free kick from 25 yards.

Tow Law beat Brandon by the same scoreline, Adam McVickers scoring the goal.

Team Northumbria easily won 4-1 at Billingham Town. Louis Storey gave TN the lead from the penalty spot , then Ben Dibb-Fuller made it 2-0. Joel Callender pulled a goal back for Town, but TN made sure with goals by David Luke and Liam McNamara.

Sunderland RCA came back from a goal down to win 4-1 at Celtic Nation, who took the lead through Dean Armstrong. But RCA hit back with gaols by Lewis Wood, Lee Bythway, and Gavin Barton (2).
