Bishop Auckland are through to the next round of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 away win at Sunderland RCA last night.

Bishops took the lead on 9 minutes with a good effort by Kyle Davis and they held their own until the last minute when Adam Sakr dribbled through a static defence and made sure of a tie against Jarrow Roofing next Saturday.

Guisborough lost 3-2 on penalties at Armthorpe after a 2-2 draw.

Guisborough went a goal down on 9 minutes when Adam Lee scored from the spot following a Danny McWilliams foul, but Callum Martin levelled with a free kick. Adam Gell then put Guisborough into the lead with a 25 yarder. Joe Lumsden equalised for Armthorpe to send the game into extra time.

Ashington beat Holker Old Boys 3-0 at Woodhorn Lane in their replay. Glen Taylor put Ashington into the lead after 26 minutes, with Andrew Johnson scoring a second just after half time. Johnson made sure ten minutes from the end.

Whitley Bay couldn’t make it into the next round when they were beaten by a second half goal in their replay against Bridlington.

In the league, Crook Town lost 2-1 at Durham City. Crook, under the caretaker managership of Nick Harrison following the resignation of Paul Bennett, stunned City by taking the lead on 31 minutes through Kieron Weekes, but Callum Hope slid in the equaliser just after half time. Olly Hotchkiss headed Durham into the lead from a Hope free kick.

Marske stayed top of the table by coming from behind to win 3-2 at Celtic Nation.

CN player manager Mark Boyd put his side ahead with a free kick on 21 minutes, but Jamie Owens chipped the equaliser from a Josh MacDonald assist. Dean Douglas dribbled through the Marske defence and restored CN’s lead. But then Liam O’Sullivan equalised, and with three minutes left, MacDonald crossed for Reece Kelly to score the winner.

Dunston beat Jarrow Roofing 1-0, the goal coming on 72 minutes when David Coulson headed in a right wing cross.

In the second division, Tow Law won their first game of the season, just getting the better of Stokesley by 3-2.

Darlington RA also tasted victory for the first time this season when they beat unbeaten Alnwick 1-0.

Thornaby had a good 4-1 home win over Seaham Red Star, with goals by Danny Lambert (2) Danny Lofts and Curtis Edwards scoring for Thornaby, with Sonny Andrews replying.

Team Northumbria now have four wins from four after beating Billingham Town 3-1, while Ryhope CW went 5-0 up at Washington before the home side scored two late goals.
