Gillford Park flung the promotion door open for their rivals when they threw away a three goal lead against Northallerton tonight.
The Cumbrians led 4-1 going into the last twenty minutes, but Northallerton pulled off one of the great escapes of the season, and pulled back to 4-4.
The result means that Gillford stay in fifth, seven points behind third placed Morpeth with two games in hand, and seven behind second placed Hebburn with just one game in hand. Northallerton manager Mark Fanning said: "After being 2-0 and 4-1 down, we showed great character to come back and get a point. Every one of the players deserve great credit."
