Easington manager Andy Colledge last night quit for the second time.

Colledge returned to the crisis-hit club in December after he had originally walked out in October, but he decided to quit again after an emergency meeting in Easington.

"I made some suggestions, but nothing really came out of the meeting," he said. "I'm not hopeful for the future."

The club submitted its resignation on Saturday night after losing 14-0 at Team Northumbria, but there was a U turn on Sunday afternoon.

The league is now sure to be asking for assurances that the club will be able to fulfil its scheduled fixture at home to Darlington RA on Saturday.
