Crook Town will hold a minute’s silence in memory of Sir Tom Cowie ahead of their home game with Horden this afternoon.

Sir Tom, who has provided a huge amount of help for Crook in recent years, sadly passed away in midweek at the age of 89.

Crook chairman Kieron Bennett said: “He was a true gentleman and a very generous one at that, he is simply irreplaceable. It’s a very sad day for Crook Town AFC and more so for Sir Tom's wife and family. The world will be a lesser place without him.”

Manager Gary Pearson will choose from a full squad, while Horden, who had a good win last week over Ryton, have an injury doubt over Daniel Davis. Manager Bobby Orton is hoping to sign two new players before the game.

North Shields, who are unbeaten away in the league this season, will have a battle on their hands at Morpeth, who are sixth in the table. Manager Anthony Woodhouse chooses from a full squad.

Darlington RA, who dropped to fourth behind Gillford Park in midweek, are at Chester-le-Street, and manager Nick Harrison is forced into five changes, because Matty Calvert, James Evison, Dale Elgie, Graham Whitehead and Gav Swankie are all missing, but Michael Barnett, Lee Hutton and Fred Huscroft will return. Chester, who are sixth from bottom, are without midfielder Michael Coghlan because of injury, but another midfielder, Dan Curry, should return.

Esh Winning, who are unbeaten in their last two games, are at home to Ryton, and they add striker Darren Kokes to the squad on his return from suspension, but they have fitness checks on Ian Ward, Scott Richards, Craig Mickle and Stuart Thompson.

Brandon face their second trip to Cumbria in the space of a week, this time to third placed Gillford Park, who have stormed up the table in recent weeks. Graham Anthony and Dayle Armstrong both return for Gillford, while striker James Earl will have a fitness test. There is a pitch inspection scheduled for 10.30.

Hebburn are looking for their sixth successive win at home to Alnwick, and they add defender Chris Jewels to the squad on his recovery from injury, while top scorer Liam McBryde, Jeff Forsyth and Dan Kirkup also return. McBryde is the second highest scorer in the division.

Northallerton need to get back on the winning trail after losing two away games this week, and manager Mark Fanning has no injury worries ahead of their home game against Birtley. 17 goal striker Dan Smart returns for Birtley, along with midfielder Jack Honour and keeper Andy Hunter.

League leaders Team Northumbria, who are ten points clear are at Thornaby, who haven’t won in nine league matches. Defender Rob Pearson and striker Graeme Baverstock both return for the home side.

At the bottom, basement club Easington have a big game at home to Washington as they try to narrow the seven point gap on second bottom Seaham Red Star. Simon Todd, Will Caris and Chris Tarn are all injured for Easington, while Michael Watson is missing because of suspension. Peter Crawford and David Laight both return.

West Allotment, who are seventh, are at home to Whitehaven, and manager Paul Stoneman will have a squad of 20 to choose from, although Stephen Little is suspended.
