Gillford Park have been forced into another u turn by their landlords -- on the very day that they're due to appear in front of the Northern League management committee.

Earlier in the week, Gillford told Saturday's opponents Seaham Red Star that they would be staging their home game -- their first of the season -- on their own ground, as ground improvements have been completed.

Newton Aycliffe, who play Gillford away on Tuesday, were also planning for a trip to Carlisle.

However, on Wednesday afternoon, both Seaham Red Star and Newton Aycliffe are understood to have received phone calls from a Gillford Park official that the landlords weren't satisfied with the improvements, and the proposed games wouldn't be held at Gillford Park, and instead switched to the Cumberland FA ground in Copeland, Whitehaven, 40 miles away. Whether all of Gillford's 19 home games will be played on the Cumberland FA ground this season remains to be seen.

The club has had many problems with its landlords this season, to the point that games have had to be postponed at 24 hours' notice.

The league management committee has ordered Gillford to appear tonight, according to the minutes of the last meeting on December 7th.

"The Club are to be told that if matches cannot be resumed at the ground by 15th January 2011, or a ground sharing is not agreed with the Committee they will be expected to attend a meeting with the Management Committee on 13th January 2011."

The league agreed to Gillford playing Brandon at the CFA ground last Saturday, but the match was postponed because of a frozen pitch. Whether they have agreed to a permanent groundshare is unknown -- if the league has then there will be no need for Gillford to appear tonight -- but the league has been told that the ground meets the required standard.
