Brandon have turned down the opportunity to play their preliminary round Durham Challenge Cup tie against Gateshead.
There was some debate during the week abouthe status of Gateshead in the Durham Challenge Cup, and now Durham FA have stated that they should be in the competition as Gateshead Reserves, and not the first team.
The revised draw now reads: Gateshead Reserves v Ryhope CW, (October 18), Tow Law v Spennymoor, Shildon v Bishop Auckland, Crook v Washington, Billingham Town v Darlington RA, Wolviston v Hartlepool (Wearside), Billingham Synthonia v Jarrow, Boldon CA v Hartlepool United, Norton v Darlington, Newton Aycliffe v Consett (Wed 20th October), Horden v West Auckland, Dunston v Houghton, Chester-le-Street v South Shields, Jarrow Roofing v Durham City, Sunderland RCA v Ryton, Whickham v Birtley. Ties to be played on or before October 23.
