West Auckland manager Andy Campbell wants his team to turn their season around at home to Dunston UTS this afternoon.

West lost 3-1 at home to Morpeth in midweek to leave them in the bottom five with just one win from five matches, and the former Boro striker is keen to avoid a repetition of last season, when West didn’t really get going until midway through the season.

“There’s certainly room for improvement on Tuesday night,” said Campbell. “We were missing a few players, but there were no excuses. This is a very important game in which we’re looking to turn our season around.”

Defender Darren Richardson is unavailable, while defender Jon Tiffoney and former Dunston striker Steve Richardson are both struggling with injuries.

Dunston are hoping that defender Dale Burrell will return after injury, while Matty Fisher is added to the squad.

Fifth placed Bishop Auckland, unbeaten so far this season in league and cup, go to Newcastle Benfield, and will be at full strength except for midfielder Priestley Griffiths. Benfield recall several players after injury.

Shildon, who are a point clear at the top, are at home to Ryhope CW, and will be at full strength except for skipper Bobby Moore, who is unavailable. Ryhope are currently fourth bottom with one win from four games.

Marske United, having lost their last two league games, give midfielder Nathan Evans, who was at Whitby and Darlington last season, his debut at home to Washington, but midfielder Glen Butterworth is doubtful. Washington, who had a good win in the Cup at Pickering in midweek, have doubts over Ross Preston and Andy Brown, while Ash Davis is on holiday.

Guisborough go to Ashington and welcome back keeper Michael Thackeray and outfield players Joe Ferguson and Kyran Clark, but they are without Paul Roddam and Jonny Helm.

Newton Aycliffe face fourth placed Consett at Moore Lane and will be missing midfielder Paul Garthwaite because of suspension, otherwise they’re at full strength.

Winger Josh Gray returns for Consett , but they are missing strikers Lewis Teasdale and Michael Sweet, plus defenders Matty Slocombe, Ryan McKinnon and Stevie Little, and midfielder Lewis Gibbons.

Bottom club Chester-le-Street, without a point so far, are at home to South Shields and are missing eight players for various reasons. Shields have a big doubt over leading scorer Gavin Cogdon, while defender Craig Baxter and Wayne Phillips could return after injury.

There’s sure to be a big crowd for the local derby between Whitley Bay and North Shields. Third placed Whitley, who drew at leaders Shildon in midweek, are missing midfielder Kyle Fryatt and striker Callum Patton, while defender Richard Flynn is injured. Defender Ross Wilkinson and striker Andy Robertson will both have fitness tests. Winger Denver Morris returns to the Shields squad, whilst centre half John parker has a late fitness test. Ben Richardson, Michael McKeown and Dean Holmes are all missing because of injury.

Jarrow Roofing take on Seaham in another local derby, and they will be without winger Kris Hughes because of injury, while Chris Douglas will have a fitness test. Defender Corey Barnes returns. Seaham, who are in the bottom seven, welcome back Nicky Kane and Lee Hetherington, while striker David Paul will have a fitness test. Defender Darryl Donnelly is definitely out because of injury.

Sunderland RCA, who are second, are at home to Morpeth and will be missing striker Steve Callen, midfielder Jonny Wightman and assistant manager Steve Stewart, but keeper Neal Bussey and skipper Clayton Davies both return.

Morpeth are without first choice keeper Karl Dryden because of suspension.

In the other game, Penrith are at home to West Allotment.

In the second division, Norton face high flying Stockton Town in a Teesside derby.

Norton, who lost their first league game of the season in midweek, welcome back defender David Mitchell and striker Nicky Martin. Stockton, who are second, welcome back Kallum Hannah and Joe McAvoy, but Fred Woodhouse and Danny O’Brien are definitely out.

Brandon are at home to promotion chasing Team Northumbria, and they give a fitness test to midfielder Kyle Wren.

Billingham Synthonia, who are unbeaten so far in four games, tackle Darlington RA at Central Avenue, but they are missing defender Liam O’Sullivan who is suspended while midfielder David Hillerby is struggling because of injury. The RA include a new keeper, Callum Liddicott, signed from Holker Old Boys, while James Marshall and Joe Peel are both unavailable.

Billingham Town, who won 6-0 at Brandon in midweek, expect to be at full strength for their game at Easington, who are top of the table with five wins from five. They will be without Aiden Goodey and Liam Hodgson.

Crook Town face Alnwick at the Millfield, and will be without keeper Niall Harrison, who was sent off in the first game of the season.

Durham City are at home to Heaton Stannington, and they will be missing Mark Bertram and Dan Field who are both unavailable, while there are injury doubts over Nathan Lawrence and Dave Luke.

Tow Law are hoping to bounce back from their midweek defeat at home to Whickham, but they will be missing Kevin Dixon, otherwise manager Steve Murray will have a full squad.

Thornaby go to newcomers Blyth Town and include new signing Darren Clarke, while keeper Michael Duff, plus Gary Mitchell and Phil Horsman all return.

Willington have a local derby at home to Esh Winning, who are still seeking their first win of the season. Isam Mohammed and Will Preston are both missing, while Michael Brown, Jason White and Chris Storey all return. Esh are missing eight players for various reasons, but they are hoping to complete the signings of Graham Kine, Jack Marley and John Maddison in time for the game.

In the other games, Hebburn are at home to Bedlington, and Northallerton face Ryton and Crawcrook.
