Marske United manager Carl Jarrett says that his team won’t roll over in Saturday afternoon’s top of the table clash at West Auckland.

The teams go into the game with West three points clear, but Marske, who are unbeaten away in the league this season, have two games in hand.

Manager Carl Jarrett said; “First v second is a great game to be involved in as a manager. Two good teams are facing each other, and I expect a very tough game against West who have been at the right end of the table for a few years now.

“But we are playing well at the minute, we’re unbeaten in seven games, and one thing we won’t be doing is rolling over. They will have to be at their best to get a result. We’re expecting a battle, but my lads will be up for it.”

Marske welcome back strikers Danny Brunskill and Reece Kelly, but they have doubts over defender Adam Wheatley and striker Jamie Owens. West, who have lost only once in nine home league games this season, are hoping to sign full back David Gordon from Seaham Red Star, while Jordan Laidler has left for Newton Aycliffe. Striker Mattie Moffat is missing because of injury.

FA Vase winner Keith Graydon has left Spennymoor and joined Morpeth, and he will make his debut for them at home to Dunston UTS.

Graydon scored the winner for Moors at Wembley against Tunbridge Wells, but hasn’t been playing regularly for Moors this season.

Dunston recall keeper Liam Connell and defender Dave Coulson to their side, while striker Scott Fenwick impressed in a trial for Hartlepool Reserves in midweek, scoring twice, and he has now signed a contract with the League Two club.

John Campbell, the league’s leading scorer who plays at Jarrow Roofing, could be on his way to the Football League. Campbell, who has scored 16 league goals this season, is lined up for trials at Oxford and Fleetwood, with other clubs also interested. He will probably play for Roofing today at Penrith. However, they are missing keeper Andy Hunter and midfielder Paul Gardiner because of injury, but Corey Barnes and Kieran Whitehead both return.

Bedlington, who are in fifth place, are at Bishop Auckland, and are without four players for various reasons, while James Harmison and Stephen Little both return from suspension. Bishops, who are in sixth, welcome defender Ben Riding back after suspension, but midfielder Elliott Woods is suspended.

Shildon, who are well behind with their fixtures, are at home to Celtic Nation, and they will be without defender Carl Jones, midfielder Lee Scroggins and striker Billy Greulich-Smith because of injury. The Nation are without Mark Boyd, David Hewson and Matthew Read because of injury, but Tyran Taylor, John Jardine and Adam McMath all return.

Newton Aycliffe are hoping to bounce back from their midweek defeat when they go to North Shields, and manager Peter Dixon recalls keeper James Winter, who was injured in midweek, and gives a debut to striker Jordan Laidler, signed from Newton Aycliffe. Shields, who are fourth with games in hand on all the teams above them and have dropped only two points at home all season, welcome back Michael McKeown and Dean Walker after missing the midweek game, while Adam Forster, Stuart Donnison and Joe Elliott all return after injury.

Crook Town are eight points adrift of safety, and need to win at fourth bottom West Allotment. They include new signings Peter Bryson from Seaham and Robert Nolan from Newcastle Benfield in their squad.

Allotment, who had three men sent off in midweek at Jarrow Roofing, are without injured new signing Jake Kallis, while John Pendlebury returns from holiday.

Newcastle Benfield manager Steve Bowey returns to his previous club, Consett. Striker Paul Brayson and defender Steve Tobin both return after injury plus striker Steve Baptist, but keeper Andy Grainger is unavailable. Benfield have picked up only one point on their travels this season, while Consett have won five out of six home league games. Consett are without defender Ryan Bell and midfielder Adam Nicholls, while another defender, Carl Piecha, returns from suspension.

Guisborough are at home to Durham City and have an injury doubt over Damien Stevens, but Chay Liddle, Luke Bythway and Callum Martin all return.

Durham are without defender Ross Wilkinson because of injury.

Ashington are at home to Whitley Bay, and are without striker Marc Walton, who scored four in the reverse fixture at Whitley earlier in the season.

In the second division, Darlington RA are hoping to avoid their third successive defeat when they go to Washington. The RA, who have dropped to sixth in recent weeks, and only have ten first team regulars available, so manager Paul Bowman will call upon the club’s youth team. Washington, who are two places below the RA, are strengthened by the returns of defender Paul Wardle, midfielder Dan Iredale and striker James Fairley, while striker Joe Walton has a fitness test.

Thornaby are away to leaders Team Northumbria, and they include new striker Matt McQueenie, signed from Guisborough, but winger Craig Ruddy is unavailable.

Norton are at Tow Law after failing to win either of their last two league games, and add striker Michael Jameson to a full strength squad. Lawyers are stretched, with Jamie Henderson, Elliott Cutts, Paul Greenwell, Simon Ord and Anth Lee all missing, but Alistair Wilson returns.

Chester-le-Street, who are 12th, can continue their climb up the table at home to Hebburn, and they are within Kevin Duggan, while defender Jordan Fraser has gone out on loan to Annfield Plain. Hebburn, who haven’t won for seven league games, are without Callum Smith and Craig Malley because of injury, while centre half Ally Downey will have a fitness test.

Heaton Stannington, who are fourth , have a tricky home game against Willington and will be without striker Brian Dodsworth, but another striker, Dan Taggart, returns. Willington are missing Adam Burnicle who scored twice in midweek, while Stephen Howe, Michael Hillary and Aiden Goody are all missing. However, Jason White returns to the squad.

Ryhope CW, who had a good Vase win in midweek, are at Ryton and Crawcrook and they welcome back keeper Barry Poskett, who has been on an emergency loan at Newton Aycliffe. First choice Chris Rookes is out for at least a month because of injury. Top scorer Jack Pounder is unavailable as is fellow striker Andy Appleby New Brandon manager Paul Tunstall takes charge of his first game at home to third placed Seaham Red Star, who have won their last six league matches. Seaham include defender Chris Storey, signed from Newton Aycliffe.

Fifth bottom Billingham Town can climb further away from trouble if they beat second bottom Esh Winning. Michael Thackeray and Craig Tatum could both return, while Richie Dacombe will make his return debut.

Northallerton, who have dropped off the promotion pace in recent weeks, are at home to Alnwick and they welcome defender Colin Anderson back into the team after suspension.

South Shields are at home to Whickham and are without defender Barrie Smith and Lee Maitland because of suspension, and striker Stephen Ramsey because of injury.

Whickham are without midfielder Ross Peareth, but Tom Souter is missing with a head injury. Mark Fitzpatrick should return after illness.

Stokesley are at home to Birtley, and they welcome Ged Richardson, Fionn Crawley and Ben Bonner back into their squad, but they’re still missing defender Kristian Kamara.

Birtley conceded five in midweek at home to Washington, are without captain Paul Oxley because of suspension, while Kraig Wilkinson, Alan Herbert, Gavin Lisle and Robert Smith are all working. Craig Suggett and Lee Best should return after injury.

In the Durham Challenge Cup, Billingham Synthonia are away to Seaton Carew from the Wearside League, and they are without defender Tom Bott, but another defender, Scott Matthewman, returns. Midfielder Matthew Osmond returns.

In the EvoStik League, Whitby are at home to Stamford.
