Goals:
1-0: Ulloa (1, burst ahead of Sissoko to head home Albrighton’s corner at the front post)
2-0: Morgan (17, evaded a flat-footed Coloccini to prod home Albrighton’s left-wing free-kick)
3-0: Ulloa (pen, 48, drove spot-kick past Krul after Riviere barged over Wasilewski from a corner)
Bookings: Janmaat (16, foul), Gutierrez (28, foul), James (29, foul), Williamson (55, foul), Dummett (70, foul)
Sending Offs: Williamson (62, second yellow card, foul), Janmaat (90, second yellow card, foul)
Referee: Mike Dean (The Wirral) – Got the penalty and both of the dismissals absolutely spot on. Indeed, if anything, Williamson’s foul might even have been a straight red 7
Attendance: 31,576
Entertainment: ****
LEICESTER (4-4-2):
Schmeichel 7; Wasilewski 8 (De Laet 68, 6), Morgan 8, Huth 7, Schlupp 8; Albrighton 8, Cambiasso 7 (Hammond 74), James 7, Mahrez 7; VARDY 9, Ulloa 8 (Kramaric 78).
Subs (not used): Schwarzer (gk), Konchesky, Drinkwater, Wood.
NEWCASTLE (4-4-2):
6 Krul: Made two excellent second-half saves from Vardy and Ulloa to prevent Newcastle’s day becoming even more embarrassing
1 Janmaat: As an experienced international, his petulant last-minute dismissal was completely inexcusable
2 Coloccini: Displayed no leadership at all as Newcastle imploded and was directly at fault for Morgan’s goal
1 Williamson: Did he mean to get sent off as Carver suggested? Either way, his second-half dismissal was an absolute disgrace
3 Dummett: Struggled at left-back and arguably became even worse when he was shuffled inside to centre-half
5 Colback: The only outfield player excused by Carver and at least displayed a modicum of desire as others went missing
3 R Taylor: His loss of the ball from the kick off set the tone for the afternoon and his limitations were repeatedly apparent
3 Sissoko: Ducked out of the challenge that led to Ulloa scoring and continues to look nothing like the player he clearly thinks he is
3 Gutierrez: It almost seems churlish to criticise after all he has been through, but surely doesn’t merit as place in the side
3 Riviere: His air kick as he broke into the box in the first half was ridiculous, but his foul for the penalty was even worse
6 PEREZ: Was the only Newcastle player offering anything in the first 20 minutes and must be wishing he was back in Tenerife
Subs:
De Jong (for R Taylor, 58): Clearly isn’t at full fitness yet, and was unable to do much positive from a deep-lying midfield role 4
Anita (for Riviere, 64): Slotted in at left-back after Williamson’s dismissal, but was unable to prevent Leicester running riot down their right 4
Armstrong (for Perez, 75)
(not used): Woodman (gk), Abeid, Ameobi, Cabella.
Man Of The Match: JAMIE VARDY – Leonardo Ulloa might have scored twice, but it was Vardy’s desire, work rate and movement that repeatedly ripped the Newcastle defence apart.
