PROMISING Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons has penned a new five-year deal at St James' Park.
The 20-year-old, who attracted attention from a number of top Premier League clubs before a frustrating spell last season, has impressed Rafael Benitez during the last five months.
The new terms ties Aarons to Newcastle until 2021 and extends his stay on Tyneside where he moved in 2012 after a spell at Bristol City.
He made his Newcastle debut as a substitute against Manchester City on the opening day of the 2014/15 campaign.
Aarons said: "It's something that was always going to happen, but it's nice to get it done.
"I love the club and this shows it even more. Under the new manager, there's a project and it's a forward-thinking club now, so I'm just happy to be part of what the manager has in store for the club and I'm happy that he has faith in me.
"I'd like to repay him and the fans and my family for this opportunity."
