JOHN CARVER has made two changes for Newcastle United's game at Everton this afternoon - but neither Remy Cabella nor Ayoze Perez features in the starting line-up.
Despite being arguably the brightest attacking talents in the Magpies squad in the absence of the suspended Papiss Cisse, Cabella and Perez are only named on the bench at Goodison Park.
Instead, it is Yoan Gouffran who replaces Cisse, with the Frenchman expected to play in a withdrawn role behind central striker Emmanuel Riviere.
The other change to Newcastle's starting line-up sees Jack Colback return from suspension to replace the injured Mehdi Abeid at the heart of midfield.
Everton, who will kick off just three points clear of the relegation zone, are able to name the fit-again Leighton Baines in their starting line-up, with Romelu Lukaku leading the line after tearing the Newcastle defence apart in last season's corresponding fixture.
EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Howard; Coleman, Jagielka, Alcaraz, Baines; McCarthy, Gibson; Lennon, Osman, Kone; Lukaku.
Subs: Robles (gk), Stones, Garbutt, Besic, Atsu, Barkley, Naismith.
NEWCASTLE (4-2-3-1): Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, R Taylor; Colback, Sissoko; Obertan, Gouffran, Ameobi; Riviere.
Subs: Elliot (gk), Satka, Anita, Gutierrez, Cabella, Perez, Armstrong.
