NEW Middlesbrough striker Jelle Vossen has expressed his relief after finally completing his move to the Riverside Stadium.
Vossen has arrived on Teesside on a season-long loan from Racing Club Genk and joins Dutch winger Yanic Wildschut, who completed his permanent move earlier today.
Boro have been tracking Vossen for some time having tried to sign the striker during the last two transfer windows, but the Belgium Pro League played hardball over a fee.
However, Boro chiefs returned with a new offer of a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer, and the 25-year-old could make his debut in next weekend’s trip to Huddersfield Town.
“I’m really happy to be here,” Vossen said. “It took some time to get things right but I’m very happy that I can start a new challenge and try to get some good results with the team.
“From the beginning I had a great feeling about Middlesbrough and a lot of confidence in the move. I knew they wanted me badly, so it was very important for me to make the step.”
