MAN CITY (4-2-3-1):

Bravo 6; Zabaleta 5, Stones 7, Kolarov 6, Clichy 6; FERNANDINHO 8, Gundogan 7 (Nolito 74); Navas 5 (Garcia 86), de Bruyne 6, Silva 6; Aguero 6 (Iheanacho 90).

Subs (not used): Caballero (gk), Kompany, Maffeo, Sane.

MIDDLESBROUGH (4-5-1):

8 Valdes: Made two superb saves to thwart Aguero and Silva – much improved from the start of the season

7 Barragan: Dealt with the dangerous Silva effectively and tucked inside to support his centre-halves when required

8 CHAMBERS: Won’t have many more difficult tasks than facing Aguero but produced a series of fine blocks and tackles

7 Gibson: Another hugely impressive showing from the centre-half, who was almost always in the right place at the right time

8 Friend: Kept Navas quiet for the vast majority of the game and delivered a sensational cross for de Roon’s equaliser

6 Traore: Didn’t quite have the same impact as at Arsenal, but teed up Forshaw with a lovely ball for a shot that was saved

6 Clayton: Was the deepest-lying of Boro’s midfielder throughout and formed an effective shield in front of the back four

7 De Roon: Looked much happier as he got on the front foot in the second half and came up with an excellent equalising header

7 Forshaw: Was a key factor in Boro’s second-half improvement as he pushed ten yards further forward and broke into the box

6 Downing: Found himself pinned into his own penalty area in the first half, but was more of an attacking feature after the break

6 Negredo: Was far too isolated before the break, but came into the game in the second half and almost scored from the halfway line

Subs:

Fischer (for Downing, 78)

Stuani (for Traore, 90)

(not used): Guzan (gk), Espinosa, Fabio, Leadbitter, Nugent.

Man Of The Match: CALUM CHAMBERS – There were four or five contenders, but Chambers was polished and dominant throughout as he controlled the back four. Keep this up, and an England recall cannot be far away.
