ANTONIO BARRAGAN has completed his £2.5m move to Middlesbrough.
Ambitious Boro have handed him a three-year deal after convincing him to swap Valencia for the Riverside Stadium.
The full-back will not figure for Middlesbrough at Doncaster on Saturday but he will fly out to Marbella on Monday with the rest of the squad.
He is expected to be joined in Marbella by his former Valencia team-mate Alvaro Negredo, who has also agreed to join the Teesside club on a season-long loan.
Barragan, 29, only had one year remaining on his contract at Valencia and he becomes Middlesbrough's sixth signing of the summer.
He will not be the last either, with Negredo, Gaston Ramirez and Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic all in line to join too after agreements with the players and their clubs were agreed.
Ramirez and Subotic are both waiting for work permits, although the former is expected to be confirmed a Middlesbrough player sooner than the Serbian defender.
