MIDDLESBROUGH trio Albert Adomah, Mustapha Carayol and Emilio Nsue will be in international action this week as their respective sides begin their attempts to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Adomah linked up with the Ghana squad last Friday ahead of today’s friendly with Togo and Saturday’s AFCON qualifier with Mauritius.

The winger was axed from the Ghana squad after the Black Stars failed to win a game at last year’s World Cup finals, and did not appear in this year’s Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

However, Ghana head coach Avram Grant offered him a recall after he impressed in the final weeks of the Championship season, and he is expected to be involved in today’s warm-up game with Togo.

Carayol is set to make his international debut for Gambia in Saturday’s AFCON qualifier with South Africa, having finally committed himself to the West African nation last month.

The 26-year-old, who returned to action in the second half of last season after missing more than a year with a cruciate injury, had turned down previous invitations to link up with the Gambia squad.

However, he signalled his desire to play for Peter Bohu Johnson’s side at the end of the domestic campaign, and was immediately called up for this weekend’s game.

“He is a good addition to the team,” said Ebou Faye, the head of the Gambia Football Federation. “He will add quality to the team and, with players like him, we will have a very good team.”

Having skippered Equatorial Guinea to the quarter-finals of this year’s Cup of Nations, Nsue will again wear the captain’s armband when his side begin their qualifying campaign for the next tournament with a game against Benin.
