NEALE Cooper, the former Hartlepool United manager, is in a critical condition in hospital in Aberdeen.
He was found collapsed in the stairwell of flats in the city at around 1.45am on Sunday morning.
Cooper, who had two spells in charge of Pools, is understood to be on a life support machine.
Police are investigating but there are no suspicious circumstances.
Cooper had heart surgery last year after collapsing and had a stem fitted.
A tweet from Hartlepool United read: “The thoughts and best wishes of everyone connected with Hartlepool United are with former boss Neale Cooper after hearing the news he is in hospital. Keep on fighting, we are right behind you.”
