THE Football Association have this afternoon rejected Hartlepool United's appeal against the red card issued to Liam Donnelly at the weekend.
The Pools defender was sent off at Barnet, after striker John Akinde went down in the penalty area.
Pools felt the decision to award a penalty and send the Northern Irishman off was the wrong call by referee Nicholas Kinseley.
But after lodging their appeal, it has been knocked back and Donnelly's one-game ban means his misses Sunday's FA Cup tie at home to Stamford.
