HARTLEPOOL UNITED have made a double loan signing with two young strikers arriving.

Bradley Fewster from Middlesbrough and Tom Heardman from Newcastle have both signed half-season loans at the Northern Gas and Power Stadium.

Fewster spent time on loan at York City last season, netting eight times in 24 games.

Heardman trained with Pools last week as boss Craig Hignett took a look at the striker. He has been a regular in the Magpies’ Under-21 side.

Pools boss Craig Hignett said: Both Tom and Brad who have joined on loan are really hungry to prove themselves and that’s one of the big qualities I look for in players.”

Meanwhile, Adam Jackson has left Middlesbrough on a permanent deal to sign for Barnsley. He was on loan at Pools last season and while Pools were keen to sign him permanently earlier in the summer, they were unable to agree a deal with Boro.
