CAPTAIN Billy Paynter will be given every chance to make his Hartlepool United return this weekend.

Pools take on Cambridge at Victoria Park, with their top scorer aiming to return after missing last weekend’s defeat at Exeter with a hamstring strain.

Paynter has been troubled by the injury for the past three weeks and Moore hopes his spell on the sidelines will be enough to see him back.

Moore said: "We are just going to wait and see. We've given him that break and Billy is going to train this morning.

"He is saying the right things and wants to play, but we can't be carrying anybody.

"We need to make sure we have 11 lads who are fit and raring to go.

"We'll probably leave that one to the very last minute."
